However, before parents allow their teens to babysit, they need to consider if their teen knows how to handle common and uncommon emergency situations.

Babysitting preparedness classes provide teens with the knowledge and skills they need to handle emergencies while they care for young children. These classes teach teens how to properly use a fire extinguisher, how to respond in the event of a fire or other emergency, how to administer CPR, and first aid best practices.
