Young or older teens typically offer babysitting services to neighbors and families in the community. This service enables teens to earn extra money and learn crucial care responsibilities. However, before parents allow their teens to babysit, they need to consider if their teen knows how to handle common and uncommon emergency situations.
Babysitting preparedness classes provide teens with the knowledge and skills they need to handle emergencies while they care for young children. These classes teach teens how to properly use a fire extinguisher, how to respond in the event of a fire or other emergency, how to administer CPR, and first aid best practices.
Classes are hosted by members of the District, and the goal of the class is to empower teens as they pursue these care responsibilities. Sign up for classes online
